Remembering Neal Shannon James, David "Squirrel" Brady, and Lolly Dog
The Turtleman family has lost three extraordinary family members in the last two years, Neal Shannon James, David "Squirrel" Brady, and Lolly dog.
Neal Shannon James was a valuable member of the team on "Call of the Wildman." He passed away on February 1, 2019. According to the Lebanon Enterprise, Neal suffered a heart attack after having a history of cardiac problems. He was a devoted husband and volunteer at Isaiah House, a center for addiction recovery. He was also an accomplished banjo player, posting many "how-to" videos online. He is remembered fondly by his fans in pictures with his banjo.
David "Squirrel" Brady was known on the show as Turtleman's right-hand man and general bookkeeper. According to the Lebanon Enterprise, Brady passed away on August 8, 2020. In addition to his work on "Call of the Wildman," Squirrel also worked for over 15 years at the Kentucky Cooperage and, as of 2018, developed his own brand of knife. Brady was also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Lolly Dog battled cancer for years but lost her fight on December 14, 2019. She was found by Brown in 2009 after an ice storm and quickly became part of his group of critter-wrangling Kentuckians. She was loved by all of the Turtleman family, "Call of the Wildman" show staffers and all Turtleman fans. Click here to read the local article about the passing of Lolly Dog.
